Dining Room Lakewood Project

This dining room renovation marks a meaningful new chapter, a space designed entirely for the homeowner herself, reflecting a shift toward prioritizing rest and self-expression. As a flight attendant with a demanding travel schedule, she longed for a serene, grounding environment to return home to - a place that felt like an exhale after days on the go. After years of designing around others’ needs, she embraced the opportunity to create something deeply personal: a calming, soulful room that serves as both a daily retreat and a space to gather with intention.

The design centers around a cozy dining area with comfortable seating for four, perfect for quiet mornings with coffee or intimate dinners with friends. Enhancing the flow of the room was essential, creating an open, welcoming layout that still feels intimate and comforting. A vintage sideboard, rich with history and sentimental value, is being carefully restored, serving as both a functional storage piece and an emotional anchor within the space.

Inspired by the effortless elegance of French cafés, the room blends contemporary traditional design with soft, feminine touches. Natural linens, calming neutrals, delicate stripes, and curated vintage accents add depth and soul, creating a layered, lived-in look. Every element was chosen to support rest, connection, and personal expression, resulting in a space that feels like home in every sense of the word
